On Wednesday, during Joe Biden’s first day in the White House as president, his press secretary, Jen Psaki, brushed off a question from the Catholic television station EWTN regarding his stance on the Hyde Amendment and the Mexico City Policy (MCP). The two policy items protect federal tax dollars from funding abortions domestically (Hyde) and abroad (MCP).
EWTN’s Owen Jensen asked, “Two big concerns for pro-life Americans, the Hyde Amendment, which of course keeps taxpayer dollars as you know for abortions, Medicaid abortions. And the Mexico City policy, which under the previous administration, expanded to keep tax dollars from overseas paying for abortions…. What is President Biden planning on doing in those two items right now?”
Psaki brushed off the question, talking instead about Joe Biden’s self-professed “devout” Catholicism.
“Well, I think we’ll have more to say on the Mexico City policy in the coming days, but I will just take the opportunity to remind all of you that he is a devout Catholic and somebody who attends church regularly. He started his day attending church with his family this morning, but I don’t have anything more for you on that,” said Psaki.
The Mexico City Policy was rescinded during the Barack Obama administration but reinstated during the Donald Trump administration which protects from tax dollars funding abortions abroad.
However, on Thursday, Dr. Anthony Fauci announced that the Biden administration would be rescinding the Mexico City Policy, saying, “It will be our policy to support women’s and girls’ sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights in the United States, as well as globally.”
“To that end, President Biden will be revoking the Mexico City policy in the coming days, as part of his broader commitment to protect women’s health and advance gender equality at home and around the world.”
I do not understand why Pres. Trump did not fire the disgusting “Dr. Fauci” a year ago.
I will just bet that he doesn’t pay taxes but can tell you and I that we owe it to the world to fund abortion in their country . Not his money though . No christian would ever do that . No christian would ever create an abortion law ! He most likely never reads his Bible if he has one . If so he didn’t understand what he read. Read Revelation to find out what happened to King Ahab wife Jezebel and Israel all because of abortions . I doubt that the same thing will happen to Hillery though.
