On Thursday, Congressman Alex Mooney (R-WV) re-introduced the “Life at Conception Act,” which would require protection under the 14th Amendment for babies in the womb.
“This bill would require protection for the preborn under the 14th Amendment, which grants all citizens equal protection under the law and prevents them from being deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law,” wrote Mooney.
Rep. Mooney’s co-sponsor, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green (R-GA) also wrote, “My number one priority is to end the genocide of abortion. Killing a baby in the womb is the worst lie sold to women and it doesn’t solve problems, nor is it women’s ‘healthcare.’ I’m proud to cosponsor @RepAlexMooney‘s Life at Conception Act.”

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) is sponsoring the Senate version of the bill, as well as the “Defund Planned Parenthood Act.” Sen. Paul said, “Our nation cannot expect to fully protect and maintain our other rights, if we do not respect the fundamental right to life even starting in the womb.”
