On Thursday after the U.S. House of Representatives approved the “American Rescue Plan,” Democrats’ pork-filled “COVID-19” bill that would send millions of dollars to the abortion business, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops released a scathing statement against the pro-abortion bill.
The statement reads as follows:
“[It] is unconscionable that Congress has passed the bill without critical protections needed to ensure that billions of taxpayer dollars are used for life-affirming health care and not for abortion.
“Unlike previous COVID relief bills, sponsors of the American Rescue Plan Act refused to include the longstanding, bi-partisan consensus policy to prohibit taxpayer dollars from funding abortions domestically and internationally. The policy was needed because this bill includes many general references to healthcare that, absent the express exclusion of abortion, have consistently been interpreted by federal courts not only to allow, but to compel, the provision of abortion without meaningful limit.
“The many important, life-saving provisions in the American Rescue Plan Act have been undermined because it facilitates and funds the destruction of life, which is antithetical to its aim of protecting the most vulnerable Americans in a time of crisis.”
The $1.9 trillion pro-abortion bill only spends about 9% on COVID-19 relief while $386.7 billion included in the bill can be used to directly fund abortion, millions for funding foreign abortion, and a $50 million bailout for the abortion business, according to one report.

Greta, you are exactly right. Catholics at a 50% rate voted for abortion advocates who walk up to take communion and call themselves devout knowing full well they will send money to abortion programs. If the bishops are so disgusted then how about excommunicating those political hypocrites.

So everyone is opposed to abortion. That includes me. But it appears that our government is also in favor of genocide, apartheid and crimes against humanity. I guess it is ok to kill babies, children, mothers, etc. as long as they have been born. There was a recent report where Israeli soldiers prevented a Palestinian firetruck from reaching a home fire resulting in the deaths of two small children, one only 18 months old. If you support such crimes you are as guilty as those supporting abortion. For shame.
I do not know of the circumstance to which you address, Richard, but I do know ambushes are set up to kill Israeli soldiers. How would the soldiers determine this was not one?

The Jews DO NOT call for the killing of Muslims.They’ve NEVER called for genocide of any group. They don’t attack other nations except in self defense. They allow Muslims and Christians to become citizens in Israel. They also allow churches and mosques to exist.
HOWEVER, most Muslims say Israel MUST be destroyed and that ALL Jews in the world killed. Many Muslim nations sided with Hitler during WW2 due to his call for the Final Solution. Most Muslim nations don’t allow non Muslims to hold citizenship nor allow churches or synagogues in their countries. They even imprison and murder Christian and Jewish clergy and rape and execute Muslim women as prostitutes if they’re married to non-Muslims.
Furthermore, Palestine as a nation never existed. The ancient Romans called one provence in the Levant Palestine, but it wasn’t a nation. Walling off a hostile area bent on constant terrorism isn’t apartheid nor is it a crime against humanity, despite UN proclamations to the contrary.

So, why are the Bishops not instituting excommunication proceedings. In my churth, Lutheran Church Missouri Synnod, excommunication is the means to call the accused to repent and return to the church’s beliefs.Until then, they cannot partake in Word and Sacrament.
If the American Bishops were really concerned, they’d excommunicate those politicians who support abortion on demand for ANY reason at ANY time.

The USCCB issue a hollow admonition, decrying the latest round of sinful spending in Washington. Why? Because it contains a pittance for abortion providers.
