According to a new report, outspoken pro-life priest Fr. James Altman has been suspended by Bishop William Patrick Callahan of the Diocese of La Crosse, Wisconsin a via FedEx note on Thursday informing him he has been removed as pastor of St. James the Less parish. Also, his priestly faculties have been suspended.

Altman, whose viral “You Can’t be a Catholic and a Democrat” video catapulted him to fame, clashed with his bishop in recent months. Callahan had asked him to resign, and Altman told LifeSite at the end of June that his ousting was imminent.
Altman’s following around the U.S. has grown as Catholics, frustrated with the hierarchy’s refusal to uphold Church law and deny abortion-activist politicians Holy Communion in accordance with canon 915, have discovered his clear preaching.
The removal of a priest’s faculties mean the priest may not offer public Mass in his home diocese or another diocese. A priest with suspended faculties is also not permitted to hear Confessions or baptize people unless they are in danger of death.
“I am not surprised that the hierarchy boldly continues to try to cancel a voice of Truth,” Altman told LifeSiteNews. “As [the] bishop stated publicly, I speak the undeniable Truth. Unfortunately for the corrupt hierarchy, I will not be silenced by any arbitrary Decree, nor will I be cowed by any action against my priestly faculties. The Truth will not be silenced.”

What does anyone expect from their Bishop, or should I say the Catholic Church. The one here on Guam actually raped and molested little alter boys, and was never prosecuted of his crimes.
Hasn’t the Catholic church had enough scandals with pedophile priests? Now they are going against God and the bible? Maybe Catholics should switch religious denominations and form a new church. The hypocrisy of their pope is apparent, and his anti God’s laws rhetoric is scary.
We have the one true faith, The Holy Catholic Church. The corrupt human debris that is filling a good number of the positions in the church hierarchy have nothing to do with our Catholic Faith. Out of over 12,000 Christian denominations that exist today, Catholicism is the only religion founded by Jesus Christ himself. We have had a history of corrupt popes, cardinals, bishops and priests, etc. (as have other denominations). What Marlene is suggesting is exactly what Satan wants us to do. In 634 AD some Christians started developing hierarchies and telling their followers that they could only reach God through them. So the Catholic Church supports those who encourage murder of the helpless and fails to take a stand. These politicians can repent of their murderous ways, but do not. I always thought the Eucharist was to be taken with repentance in your heart, but apparently I was wrong. It is okay to support sin it seems.

How can members of the Catholic Church continue to place any trust in the leaders of their Church when those leaders are blatantly going against the Church’s doctrine? How can the faith of the church’s members not be destroyed when they see their bishops actively retaliating against parish priests who stand by those doctrines? It appears that the Catholic Church’s elitist hierarchy (and that includes the Pope) are being hypocritical when they expect their followers to abide by the church’s canons but exemptions are given to the “abortion activist politicians” whose favor they curry. The only favor they should be interested in currying is God’s and I wonder what He thinks about these church leaders supporting the murder of innocents.
The bishop has a problem with approved abortion within the church? What does he consider a Mortal sin? God said” whatever you do to the least of my brethren, you do to me:. Better to have a millstone tied around your neck and thrown into the water , than harm the innocent”. The priest is the sinner? I had a priest once who said he could not understand how someone could call themselves a Catholic and a republican at the same time. After Mass I confronted him with the position that I could not understand how someone could call themselves a Catholic and a democrat at the same time. This was in the 80s before the democrat party decided they would not support any democrat that was pro-life. Wake up fellow citizens. They are trying to remove God from our lives. PRAY PRAY PRAY.
