On Thursday, Speaker Nancy Pelosi promised to bring up a radical pro-abortion bill for a vote when lawmakers return Sept. 20, following the Texas Heartbeat Bill being enforced effective September 1.

Though about a dozen states have passed similar heartbeat laws, Texas is the first to be allowed to enforce its law. The others have been blocked by the courts. The heartbeat law has the potential to save tens of thousands of babies’ lives every year.
Pelosi blamed the U.S. Supreme Court as well as Texans for the life-saving law. In her statement Thursday, she signaled plans to use her power to override the will of Texas voters and all Americans who want their states to protect unborn babies from abortion.
“This ban necessitates codifying Roe v. Wade,” Pelosi said. “Upon our return, the House will bring up Congresswoman Judy Chu’s Women’s Health Protection Act to enshrine into law reproductive health care for all women across America.”
House Resolution 3755, deceptively named the “Women’s Health Protection Act,” would invalidate basically all pro-life laws that protect mothers and unborn babies, pro-life leaders have warned. These include late-term abortion bans, parental consent for minors, bans on taxpayer-funded abortions, informed consent requirements and bans on sex-selection abortions. Conscience protection laws that protect pro-life doctors and nurses from being forced to help abort unborn babies also would be at risk.
“Every woman everywhere has the constitutional right to basic health care,” Pelosi said, CNBC reports.

Abortion is not the business of government. It’s private and the business of the pregnant woman and her obstetrician. Taxpayers should not be required to fund that private business.
