In an argument claiming to be “pro-child,” law professor Laura Hermer attempted to settle on a principle that both pro-lifers and abortion supporters can agree on: the welfare of children. “Pro-life advocates presumably want viable pregnancies to yield babies who are loved and given the best start possible,” she wrote in MinnPost. But then Hermer added that abortion access is an equally vital part of ensuring the welfare of children and mothers – an echo of Planned Parenthood’s notorious “every child a wanted child” argument.

It is an idea that pro-lifers know to be deeply flawed.

The crux of Hermer’s argument is that women who are denied abortions are more likely to have children who suffer from neglect — because they are “unwanted” — and such women are also more likely to be impoverished as a result. Although she acknowledged there is a lack of data examining the effect of unintended pregnancy on mothers, Hermer cited heavily from the so-called “Turnaway Study” of 2020, which has been repeatedly debunked.

The study is from UCSF, which National Right to Life has described as being “the nation’s abortion training academy,” looked at women from 30 abortion facilities nationwide who were denied an abortion because they were too far along, denied an abortion but got one later, or who obtained a first-trimester abortion. The study claimed to show that 95% of the women who obtained abortions did not regret their decision five years later — information intended to debunk the notion that women regret abortions. However, as critics of the study have shown, the conclusions are less reliable than they first appear.

So determined to kill…The gov already pays for your birth control_use it! And there is always adoption. There are a lot of couples out there that cannot conceive who would dearly love to have your child.

You sound like the CEO of maybe a dog pound! Was going to say humane society but that’s not something you obviously understand! Death will come upon you faster than you realize! When it does and you cry out as these conceived children do, what will you expect? Let’s not agree to disagree as you’re an abomination to humanity!!

Not just that, they are one and all guilty of false swearing when giving their SWORN Oath to
“First do NO Harm”, I belive that dismembering a BABY in the womb is a picture that condemns all those who enrich themselves in this sick perverion of the Medical Field.
If you do not want children, either do not have sex with a member of the opposite sex; wear or insert preventive devices for females or make your partner wear his sock, lastly get your tubes tied or your partner get his tubes clipped. The latter is 100% effective(I KNOW from
my own clipping, it really works)

Only if we could remove the “unwanted” adults first, and then we’ll compare the children to what we’ve “removed” (the kids might just become most desirable, after all……

If a woman is denied an abortion and she’s stubbornly still against having a child, make sure she and baby’s father don’t want the child and then force them to give baby up for adoption at birth. They won’t make baby’s life miserable nor will the parent(s) have to gripe about raising a child they don’t love. Either way, shame on them for being irresponsible to begin with.

Gee, what a great way to justify murder. They have NO IDEA what kind of live an unborn baby would have and they’re not in any position to make that determination. That’s like arresting someone for a crime that they might commit in their lifetimes but haven’t.

Don’t you just love these hypocritical doctors who refuse to inject death row inmates because they won’t go against their Hippocratic oath but they have no qualms about aborting a baby up to term?
