The recent overturning of landmark abortion case Roe v. Wade may have inspired dozens of protests, angry op-eds, and heated cable news debates — but a new poll released Tuesday suggests that one of the Democrats’ pet issues won’t even move the needle for voters come November.

According to the most recent Monmouth University poll, only 5% of those interviewed said that abortion was an important issue to them ahead of the midterm elections. Economic issues drove most of the responses from the 978 adults polled between June 23 and June 27, and some 6% said they didn’t know which issue was most important.

RealClearPolitics Executive Editor and co-founder Tom Bevan shared some of the data, tweeting, “More from Monmouth: biggest concern facing families right now: inflation + gas + economy + bills/groceries = 63%. Next highest: ‘Don’t know’ @ 6%, ‘Other’ and Abortion tied @ 5%, All the rest <3%.”

Nearly half of those polled cited either inflation (33%) or gas prices (15%) as their primary concern — and another 15% cited the overall economy (9%) or regular household bills and grocery costs (6%) as primary issues.

Clearly, Americans rank a healthy economy higher than free abortions. One look at the protests should reveal that not very many are concerned with the famous SCOTUS ruling that abortion is a matter for state — not — federal government.

Protests commonly consist of a handful of sign carriers, bucket beaters and screaming loons. They violate federal laws without opposition. Big media blows them way beyond their public support and importance. Seems only five percent of American citizens are concerned.

Mismanagement of our financial well-being is stated as the most important issue. Our CIC (Coprolite in Chief) has assembled the poorest examples of government management in U.S. history and must be held responsible for their collective incompetence.

No, but it will get out the “dead” and “illegal “ vote.

Abortion is a social issue that is also a personal issue. Abortion should not be a political concern at all for other than there being a legally defined time of pregnancy when an unborn child should be considered a human life. The main thing driving the abortion issue is Progressives promoting the use of abortion as a means of birth and population control while forcing everyone to be financially responsible for women who are not socially responsible. Take away the money factor, making women completely financially responsible for abortions and there will be a lot less women being irresponsible about becoming pregnant. Why plow the field and plant the seed if you are just going to destroy the crop before it is ready to reap?

Hopefully, this signals the long awaited wakeup call. Independents and non-declared voters may be refocusing and now see this administration for the socialist disaster it represents.

It is not the governments place or responsibility to ordain abortions for women & men that are too lazy to be responsible for their own behavior
I am sure there are certain cases that there is a need to save a WOMANS life, but why should the American citizen taxpayer money be used for those too lazy to practice birth control. There is no excuse
