On Thursday, the Vatican sent a stern warning of reprimand to the far-left German “Synodal Path,” a progressive movement that advocates for such things as homosexuality and women priests. The Vatican said the group risks causing a schism in the universal Church.

A short but stern statement said the so-called “Synodal Path” could not assume it had the authority to instruct bishops on doctrine or morality.
The movement, a regular gathering of equal numbers of bishops and ordinary German Catholics, has been outspoken in its demands for the Vatican to let priests marry, let women become priests and for the Church to bless same-sex relationships.

The movement “does not have the faculty to oblige bishops and the faithful to assume new forms of governance and new approaches to doctrine and morals”, said the statement, which was not signed but experts said could not have been issued without a green light from Pope Francis.
“It would not be lawful to initiate in the dioceses, prior to an agreed understanding at the level of the universal Church, new official structures or doctrines, which would represent a wound to ecclesial communion and a threat to the unity of the Church,” it said.
“Therefore,” the statement concludes, “it is hoped that the proposals of then path of the Particular Churches in Germany will converge into the synodal path being taken by the universal Church, for mutual enrichment and a witness to that unity by which the body of the Church manifests its fidelity to Christ the Lord.”

I’ve had enough of Pope Francis, too. I don’t disagree with this latest massive but he is fraught with other objections. Mainly, he is an unapologetic, hard core socialist.
The Vatican openly welcomed discussion on homosexuaity and the Church. What the hell did they expect?

Happy that Pope Francis is doing what he needs to do with these German pretenders. Now he needs to expel Fr James Martin from preaching in the US. Then, return Fr Altire and others who preach the truth of Jesus’ One True Church that has both saints and sinners.
