The liberal man who shot an 84-year-old pro-life woman is finally facing charges.
The woman, Joan Jacobson, was simply knocking on doors for a pro-life cause. Richard Harvey claims that he “accidentally” shot Joan Jacobson.
When Joan spoke to the Jacobson family, they were belligerent. Sharon Harvey, Richard’s husband, asked Jacobson to leave and she complied. Shen Jacobson was leaving, she heard a shot and felt pain.
Jacobson spoke to Detroit News and said the following:
“And the next thing I knew, I heard a shot and I felt some pain. I was just stunned. The pain was in my back, and it was very severe.”
Jacobson has been working with a lawyer, David Kallman to fight this legal battle. Kallman had this to say about the case last Thursday.
“There was no justification for shooting Ms. Jacobson. Mr. Harvey admitted firing a warning shot, so he knew the gun was loaded when he pointed it at my client… If it was truly an accident, why did neither of the Harveys express any remorse or even offer to assist Ms. Jacobson or call 911 immediately after shooting her?”
Harvey claims he fired a warning shot at Jacobson before he shot her. Both Jacobson and her attorney claim that this is a lie.
Harvey now faces a few charges: felony assault with a dangerous weapon, misdemeanor careless discharge of a firearm causing injury, and misdemeanor reckless use of a firearm.
