Social media is on tilt today as millions of people crassly and desperately use a mass shooting at a Uvalde, Texas school to try to score political points.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was one of the many Democrat politicians exploiting the deaths of over 20 children and teachers for political gain. And sadly and ironically she also used their tragic deaths to advocate for killing more children in abortions.
She tweeted: “There is no such thing as being ‘pro-life’ while supporting laws that let children be shot in their schools, elders in grocery stores, worshippers (sic) in their houses of faith, survivors by abusers, or anyone in a crowded place. It is an idolatry of violence. And it must end.”
But Lila Rose, the head of the pro-life group Live Action, quickly took her to task. “It’s totally despicable to use the mass slaughter of innocent school children to justify the mass slaughter of millions of innocent children in the womb. Until you open your eyes to the blood shed you support, you cannot lead,” Rose responded.

By comparison, AOC’s idolatry of violence is another myth. Big cities like New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, etc., suffer with smothering gun control laws but record more murders every week than this isolated incident executed by a seriously deranged individual. The 2nd Amendment was written specifically to protect new world citizens from oppression by uneducated socialists like AOC.
Protecting peaceable, lawful citizens from mentally afflicted individuals was rejected about 50 years ago. Back then, an anti-establishment crowd whined but did nothing about institutional horrors and the psychiatric community went along. Consequently, the government emptied out the mental institutions along with parts of the prisons creating a colossal homeless and drug addiction problem.
Seventy years ago, 500,000 individuals were institutionalized for psychiatric treatment. Doing the math, that’s about .003, three-tenths of one percent, of the 150 million who populated the U.S. at that time. Today, only about 50,000 from our population of 330 million are institutionalized. That’s about .0001, one one-hundredths of one percent.
Saying it another way, that’s a colossal reduction of 99.7 percent. Most often these nuts are now and were then known to the psychiatric community and only politely discussed. Regardless of this phenomenal decline, mental health remains – A PROBLEM – NOT THE PROBLEM. Mass shootings comprise an infinitesimal part of the total murders.
You think those facts matter to the idiot ‘gun grabbers’? Wasn’t too long ago that you could see dozens of pick-up trucks in a high school parking lot with a gun rack in the back window, and a long gun in it. That was going on for Years! But no more, and I find it sad that our young people can’t have the same freedoms that I grew up with. All because Mental Illness is no longer mentioned.
