In a recent move by YouTube, abortion disclaimers have been added to many videos published by Catholic or pro-life organizations. YouTube claims abortion is a topic susceptible to misinformation and many videos about Catholic teachings on abortion, abortion alternatives, or Pope Francis now include links to information which may counter the message of the video.

Clare Morell, a policy analyst with the Ethics and Public Policy Center’s Technology and Human Flourishing Project, had this to say about the new disclaimer:

“It biases viewers against their messaging, to prejudge and dismiss their arguments before they’ve even heard them. Rather than allowing for free speech and debate in today’s modern public square, YouTube is preferring one side and position over the other by adding these disclaimers. And attempting to prejudice viewers against the pro-life position.”

After clicking the link in the disclaimer, the viewer is directed to an abortion information page from the National Library of Medicine’s health information service MedlinePlus. On the page it says, “An abortion is a procedure to end a pregnancy. It uses medicine or surgery to remove the embryo or fetus and placenta from the uterus.” The article also states that, ““The procedure is done by a licensed healthcare professional.”

“An abortion is a procedure that kills a living human fetus so it is no longer inconvenient to its parents,” is a more accurate definition.

Not fake. The baby is a real person who shortly after a beating heart feels pain. As soon as I have time to do it I will be cancelling more of these non freedom loving mistakes. If these people have a soul the day will come when they will wish they had never allowed this.

They do have souls, and if they don’t repent before they die their souls will end up in hell and will be there forever.

can we add a “counter link” that highlights the problems with the link’s message?

Of course, “this procedure” can be done by the woman at home, with no medical supervision, by taking pills or done at abortuaries by non-doctors. So much for stopping “misinformation.”

All women have the right to be responsible and use birth control! The right to “their own bodies” doesn’t take into consideration that it is not ‘their’ body, but a separate human being. They are taking another persons right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness away in a horrible fashion. God calls that ‘murder.’ If it weren’t alive, you wouldn’t have to KILL it! With abortion ‘rights’ being taken away, some women have already commented that they’ll now have to be more careful with their birth control! Duh! If they were doing that all along, this wouldn’t be a problem.
