On February 5th, 60 year old Edwards was admitted to Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee after falling ill on a flight. After continuing to feel unwell, Edwards was released by the hospital but she refused to leave. Hospital security guards called officers from the Knoxville Police Department to arrest Edwards and in the course of the arrest she became unresponsive and was eventually taken back into the hospital where passed away of an ischemic stroke. Edwards’ family members are distraught and say officers and hospital workers “treated her like she was trash.”

Bodycam footage shows Lisa Edwards’ desperate pleas for help while in Knoxville Police Department custody. “I’m going to have a stroke,” she says, her words slurred, as she is seen slumped on the ground near a police van. “I’m going to die.”

“I know it’s all an act,” one officer says in response.

When Edwards tells the officers she can’t breathe and asks for a stretcher, officers’ comments, caught on the bodycam footage, suggest they don’t believe her. One offers her a cigarette.

“This is the Lord’s Day. All I want to do is get me some coffee and some oatmeal. I’m not going to deal with your mess this morning,” an officer tells Edwards.

According to The Blaze:

After they eventually got Edwards into a cruiser, she became unresponsive. An officer says, “I don’t know if she’s faking it or what, but she’s not answering.”

At that point, officers took her back inside the hospital. Edwards was placed on life support and died of an ischemic stroke the next day.

Tim Boylan, Lisa Edwards’ son released these words after they bodycam footage emerged, “I can’t believe she was treated the way she was. I just can’t wrap my mind around it. I just want people to remember her as a loving, caring person. The security guards were saying all kinds of stuff that’s not true about her. She did not deserve to be treated like that. Nobody does.”

If this is truly what happened to this woman, then those guards and the hospital workers need to be brought up on charges. Nobody, absolutely nobody, should be or deserves to be treated so callously and without a shred of humanity. Shame on that hospital and shame on the Knoxville PD!

The patient’s forced release is probably a case of the Insurance Co’s policy on over-staying patients for over 7 days. But the Police and Security Guards involved deserve serious re-training in handling patients appropriately, if not immediate termination and jail time.. After all, the reason for going to the hospital is to get well and not to die. My wife had experienced this 7-day policy and it was a horrible experience to be forced out on the 7th day and only to be re-admitted the following day for another 7 days and on and on. Legislatures must do something to correct this inhumanne policy.

This should be grounds for massive lawsuits against the hospital and the police officers. I am pro-police usually but this was inexcusable.

This is where the wholesale acceptance of contraception has led: first to baby murder, then murdering the infirm, and now no respect for anyone’s life at any and all ages. God help us now.

that is what happens when people are sick and their rights to be treated for health problems by a hospital seeking only to care for well patients and not the really sick ones. The love of money and greed is what brings on the senseless actions and comments by both staff and police when no one cares about what others needs are. justice needs to be served. when death is a result of gross malpractice is done.

Our police just seem to take too many opportunities to look bad anymore.

But guess that’s the kind of world we live in anymore. Cops get so overwhelmed by all the crime the Democrats enable with their soft on crime anything for a vote pandering degeneracy that they just get frazzled.

JMHO.

The hospital clearly was negligent. Stroke victims often have trouble communicating and speaking, In fact, that’s a symtom and Mrs Edwards knew she needed medical help right away. The police obviously relied on the hospital staff and believed they would never have been called to arrest and haul away a patient needing treatment

What has happened to the empathy of Americans. One pandemic,a bunch of lies pitting the people against one anothe other. Big pharm, cdc, fda Who are winning their battle to cause division and gain control. This is when I ask the question where is God in our lives? Not to many years ago everyone would have turned to god for help and all this would not havee happened.Covid was no an emergency, The vaccine would never have been approved and we would have taken China to task and we would have moved on.OUr Country took a bad turn when we pushed God out of our lives and are now paying the consequences.

Man’s inhumanity to man is becoming more evident each day as the new generation of leftists mature. Now if you notice- The bullies in school, who prey on younger, weaker children and attack them in packs come from Wok homes with Wok parents. Mean breeds mean, no doubt about it.
