Wednesday Michigan’s Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed a bill that would repeal a Michigan Law protecting viable unborn babies from late-term abortions. The Democrat-controlled state voted to repeal the law set in place in 1931 this spring, now Whitmer signed the bill into law. Afterwards Whitmer was joined by abortion activists from Planned Parenthood and Emily’s List to celebrate the bill and it’s reflection of Michigan’s “values.”

SHOCKING: Caregiver Arrested For WHAT?!

The governor said Wednesday,

“By getting this done, we will help attract talent and business investment, too. I will continue to use every tool in my toolbox to support, protect, and affirm reproductive freedom for every Michigander, and I’ll work with anyone to make Michigan a welcoming beacon of opportunity where anyone can envision a future.”

Backlash
Michigan’s Right To Life President, Barbara Listing, has said that Whitmer has a “disturbing obsession” with aborting unborn babies at all costs. Adding, “Today is a dark day for women in our state and for unborn children nearing birth. Cloaking the elimination of long-standing, common-sense health and safety protections in the mantra of ‘women’s rights’ demonstrates the extreme nature of the governor’s abortion activism.”

Most of the now repealed law had been in effected for more than 50 years. This was primarily due to Roe v. Wade. Regardless, without it pro-life leaders say that Michigan no longer has limits on abortion.
