In England, babies with underlying conditions will soon be offered two Covid vaccines. Thursday it was confirmed by UK health chiefs that 60,000 infants from ages six months to four years old will be eligible for two Pfizer Covid doses. These babies, with “underlying conditions,” will include children with poorly controlled asthma and issues affecting their heart, kidneys, liver, or digestive system.

What This Might Mean
Covid poses a very small threat to the majority of children. Most children are at a higher risk of catching many serious illnesses. However, those with pre-existing conditions could be at great risk of serious Covid related complications – if they were to catch the virus. This is where Covid vaccine activists and the UK government vaccine task force stepped in. The Government’s vaccine task force claims “jabs are the best way to increase their protection.”

Data To Back It Up
According to the latest data from the UK Health Security Agency 51 children under the age of four have died within four weeks of testing positive for Covid SINCE THE PANDEMIC BEGAN. While these lives are important and it is tragic to lose any life – there are many unknowns about the vaccine and its effects on children. Why is the UK mandating vaccines for 60,000 children? The virus itself has potentially killed only 51 of this young age group but the vaccine being given to 60,000, already vulnerable children could do insurmountable damage and we have no data to back up its sucess.

America vs. The UK
More than 1 million American children in the same age group, 6 months to four years, have already received the vaccine. Parents are reporting that children are showing symptoms of irritability, crying, sleepiness, and fever. However, one to two percent of children receiving the vaccine are suffering from severe fevers. One to two percent of 1 million is 10,000 to 20,000. 10,000 to 20,000 children who, for sure, have suffered from severe fever.

Symptoms of Severe Fever
Children with severe fevers may experience many symptoms, typically dangerous ones. Those between 6 months and five years (the same age group as this vaccine group) could experience a fever-induced seizure. They could also experience a list of other symptoms like rash, stiff neck, difficulty breathing, severe stomachache, earache, or headache, they could repeatedly vomit, have issues urinating, or even have difficulty waking up.

Why Risk It
For this young age group, 10,000 or 20,000 of them who have received the vaccine, even one dose, have had a severe fever. While we may not know the long-term risks of the vaccines in children, or even in adults, we do know the risks a server fever can bring. Would it be a risk you were willing to take if you were in the UK and only 51 children had even died from the virus? At that rate, it seems like there are more complications than benefits for this group of 60,000 UK children.
