A federal judge in Texas suspended the FDA’s approval of the abortion pill, Mifepristone, in response to a lawsuit filed by pro-life advocates on April 7, 2023. This decision is a significant step towards protecting the sanctity of human life and ensuring that women are not subject to the dangerous side effects of this medication.

The abortion pill, also known as RU-486 or Mifepristone, is a drug used to terminate pregnancies up to ten weeks gestation. Despite claims from abortion advocates that the drug is safe, it poses serious health risks to women, including severe bleeding, and infection. The abortion pill has also been linked to the deaths of over two dozen women worldwide.

The decision to suspend the FDA’s approval of the abortion pill is a crucial move toward protecting the health and safety of women. Abortion is the intentional killing of an innocent human being. No amount of rhetoric or euphemisms can change that fact. Every human life has inherent dignity and value, and we must work to protect the most vulnerable members of our society.

The ruling also recognizes the FDA’s failure to follow its own established protocols for approving new drugs. By neglecting to follow these protocols, the FDA has put women at risk and failed to uphold its duty to protect public health. The suspension of the FDA’s approval of the abortion pill in Texas is a victory for the pro-life movement.

In the aftermath of the Texas decision, a Washington State federal judge issued a conflicting order that will stop the FDA from rolling back access to the pills. States like California and Massascussets are also set to or in talks to buy more abortion pills in attempts at stockpiling their supplies in case the FDA clears shelves.
