Shellyne Rodriguez, the adjunct professor at Hunter College in New York City has been fired.

Professor’s Unruly Conduct: Hunter College’s Art Teacher Under Fire

Back in May Rodriguez went wild and yelled at two students who were tabling, or advertising to fellow students, at the school with pro-life material. She disrupted their table and threw their materials on the floor while yelling at them. That video went viral earlier this week and now Rodriguez has been fired!

According to the New York Post, one of their reporters went to Rodriguez’s Bronx apartment to confront her on her actions but she again flipped out. The former professor yelled at the reporter, ran inside her home, and returned with a machete at which point she attempted to use it on the Post’s reporter.

Clearly unstable, her former employer has fired her. Vince DiMiceli, a spokesperson for the college, told Catholic News Agency,

“Hunter College strongly condemns the unacceptable actions of Shellyne Rodriguez, and has taken immediate action.”

“Rodriguez has been relieved of her duties at Hunter College effective immediately, and will not be returning to teach at the school,” DiMiceli said.

A spokesperson for the college told Fox News Digital that an investigation into Rodriguez’s actions has been opened and that the school is “taking this matter very seriously.”

Rodriguez has responded to all of this making national news, stating that it has affected her mental health. Clearly, but it seemed as though she may have already had some issues.

“All this has taken a toll on my mental health, robbing me of my sense of safety, and creating reasonable fear that they would show up at my home to cause me physical harm, as has happened with so many other women who have similarly had their personal info exposed as a form of politically motivated harassment,” Rodriguez said in a statement shared with Hyperallergic.

“As much as this incident has stakes for my life, it is ultimately just one part of a broader political struggle taking place across the country,” Rodriguez said. “Right-wing media organizations are weaponizing and sensationalizing this case to further their agenda, and using me as a prism through which to project their attacks on women, trans people, Black people, Latinx people, migrants, and beyond.”
