Pro-Life activists celebrated a major achievement by commemorating the one-year milestone since the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to reverse Roe v. Wade, a landmark judgment that legalized abortion half a century ago. In a virtual media briefing arranged by Susan B Anthony Pro-Life America (SBA), headed by President Marjorie Dannenfelser, the event emphasized the organization’s commitment to amplifying people’s voices through elected representatives and enacting laws to safeguard the rights of unborn children.

The Dobbs v. Jackson ruling, which overturned Roe v. Wade, played a role in safeguarding the right to life and supporting pro-life advocates in proposing abortion restrictions to protect unborn children while acknowledging women’s choices. As a result of the Dobbs decision, states now have the authority to enact their own abortion laws, instead of having federal guarantees for the right to abortions, even in the late stages of pregnancy. By limiting abortion access, the well-being of women during pregnancy has been prioritized, offering alternatives like adoption and increased support.

Many states have persisted with their liberal abortion laws, and some women still consider abortion as their default choice despite the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Although the Dobbs decision has made significant progress in the pro-life movement, there remains much work to be done. The United States should contemplate implementing further policies that grant unborn children the right to life they truly deserve.

The legal landscape surrounding abortion underwent significant changes following the Supreme Court’s ruling in Dobbs v.s. Jackson Women’s Health Organization on June 24, 2022, which nullified Roe v. Wade. Numerous states governed by Republicans passed legislation protecting life from conception until the twelfth week of pregnancy. Additionally, the number of centers offering assistance to pregnant women and maternity homes surpassed the count of Planned Parenthood facilities. Pro-life groups highlighted the positive effects of these measures, sharing testimonials from leaders and individuals who received support from pregnancy centers.
