Mark Zimmerman, a pro-life advocate in Saginaw Township, Michigan, regularly prays outside the Women’s Center of Saginaw. Live Action.

Last week, a shocking incident occurred outside a Saginaw abortion facility where an abortionist allegedly ran over a pro-life advocate, causing severe injury. The accused, 88-year-old Theodore Roummel, is alleged to have run over the victim twice with his vehicle. The victim, Mark Zimmerman, a pro-life sidewalk counselor, described the event to Live Action News. Zimmerman stated that he suffered a fracture to his tibia and is currently dependent on a wheelchair for mobility. A surgery is due to place pins and screws in his leg to mend the fracture.

Zimmerman is known for his regular appearances with fellow pro-lifers outside the Women’s Center of Saginaw, where he offers prayers. His interaction with Roummel on the particular Friday led to this unfortunate event.

Zimmerman told Live Action News:

“I was standing in the driveway and the abortionist ran over my leg. And then he had to reverse to get off my leg, so he ran me over twice.”

“He parked his car and came over when the police came, and was screaming at the police about how we always run in front of him — we don’t. But I have four witnesses who saw what happened. So they gave a statement to police, and he was not arrested. He went about and finished his day by doing five abortions.”

“I went today to the police station in Saginaw Township, and was told they didn’t have the police report finished because it is still under investigation.. If the roles were reversed I would have been taken away in handcuffs.”

Roummel faced assault charges in 2012 for a strikingly similar incident where he allegedly hit Lynn Mills, the director of Pro-Life Michigan, with his car. Zimmerman, despite the recent assault, intends to return to the abortion facility with the aim to continue his services to families in need.
