Last Friday, Joe Biden’s National Institutes of Health (NIH) announced that it is reversing aborted fetal tissue limits put on it by President Trump. This news comes after the revelation that the federal government has been buying harvested baby body parts of 24-week and older children for $12,000 apiece.
The action by Joe Biden’s administration resulted in fury from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Pro-Life Activities chaired by Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann of Kansas City, Kansas.
Naumann said, “The bodies of children killed by abortion deserve the same respect as that of any other person. Our government has no right to treat innocent abortion victims as a commodity that can be scavenged for body parts to be used in research.”
He said, “It is unethical to promote and subsidize research that can lead to legitimizing the violence of abortion. Researchers have demonstrated that we can do effective scientific research and develop efficacious clinical treatments without harvesting tissue from aborted babies.”
The fiery statement concluded with Naumann writing, “It is also deeply offensive to millions of Americans for our tax dollars to be used for research that collaborates with an industry built on the taking of innocent lives. I call on the Biden Administration to instead fund research that does not rely upon body parts taken from innocent children killed through abortion.”
What are your thoughts on aborted fetal tissue used in scientific research and the newly lifted restrictions on aborted childrens’ bodies?
